During implementation of your MPLS VPN, you will be given the opportunity to discuss your requirements with a network engineer at Connexus to implement the most flexible yet secure solution possible.
After the initial implementation of your network, further changes to firewall rules (e.g. opening ports to a particular server) can be requested at any time via e-mail to our support team and will be charged in 15 minute blocks to keep your costs down.
Connexus recommend the use of an MPLS VPN to keep your internal traffic between your different sites completely separate to internet traffic.
By co-locating a Cisco firewall device with Connexus, we can ensure that all internet access inbound or outbound from any office location is strictly controlled from one gateway device which could, for example, block any internet traffic other than web browsing (through WebControl) and e-mail to Connexus e-mail servers. This will significantly reduce the risk of your network being the target of an attack and make the multi-site office behind the firewall effectively invisible to the internet. If you host servers that need public-facing IP addressing, Connexus can implement a ‘demilitarised zone’ at one or more of your office locations.
